Who is the Artist behind Jazzy Drew It LLC?

Jazzlyn Arielle Rainey is a self-taught artist entrepreneur, and creator who has been painting and drawing for the last 10 years. Currently, earning her Bachelor's of Fine Arts specializing in painting from San Diego, CA (though classically trained in Oil painting from a semester abroad in Rome, Italy) at Howard University. As a painter her studies emphasize works that challenge societal norms of representation, particularly within the African American community and African diaspora through cultural symbolism. Favoring works like these due to the ongoing disconnect in art representation for young African American women, particularly stemming from my experiences in San Diego and Southern California. "I create art to own my own narrative." Through her art, she defines her own story as a young Black creator to visually narrate the importance of her people through positive representation.

She is also a member of the NAACP for California and a four-time local gold medalist in their ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics) competition, winning two years back-to-back in 2022 and 2023. She has received awards in art from My Black City as a youth trailblazer, and nationally from the NAACP for her art and activism, including the Juanita Jackson Youth Advocacy Award at the 2023 North San Diego NAACP Blue and Gold Gala. Jazzlyn has shown her work at the French Embassy, as well as in Los Angeles, CA; Miami, Florida for Art Basel (with Bison at Basel); Hawaii; Washington, D.C and in Rome, Italy.
